:::Gentlemen may prefer her blonde, but Cameron Diaz insists she is not changing her new brunette style.

The actress adopted the darker look for her latest film The Holiday, which had its London premiere last night.

Diaz, 34, who wore an embroidered black Gucci dress for the Leicester Square event, said: "I like my hair colour and I'm going to keep it. It's going to stay a while."

In the film, Diaz does a house swap with Iris, played by Kate Winslet, exchanging LA for the English countryside at Christmas.

There she meets and falls in love with Graham, played by Jude Law.

Law, 33, dressed in a Christian Dior suit, dodged questions from the press, claiming to have a sore throat, perhaps as an excuse not to talk about Sienna Miller.

But Diaz, who in real life is happily hooked up with singer Justin Timberlake, 25, gushed about her costar: "He's very much like the character in the film. He's lovely, warm, charismatic and talented, all the things you hope he is."

The star said she was spending Christmas with her family although she would like an invitation to George Clooney's "beautiful" Lake Como villa.

Winslet, 31, who was wearing a Valentino layered skirt, said of Jack Black, who plays her love interest in the film: "He's gorgeous. I'm very much more drawn to men that have a wonderful ability to make you laugh."

But the actress said she would not join Diaz in going brunette: "I look terrible with dark hair... it just makes me depressed."

Winslet added that she wouldn't consider cosmetic surgery either: "It certainly isn't for me. I'd like to grow old with my face moving."
